In observance of National Cyber Security Awareness Month (October), Himalaya Public Sr. Sec. School organized a series of awareness activities aimed at strengthening digital safety practices and promoting a culture of responsible cyber behavior among students, teachers, and staff. The initiative was designed to align with national objectives of creating a secure and vigilant cyber environment.
The Computer Department conducted interactive workshops and webinars focusing on topics such as safe internet usage, data privacy, password protection, phishing awareness, and cyber ethics. Experts from the field shared insights on emerging cyber threats and precautionary measures to safeguard digital identity.
A special campaign was organized to educate teachers and students about maintaining cyber hygiene—including updating software regularly, avoiding suspicious links, and using secure online platforms. Posters and infographics were displayed across the campus to reinforce key messages.
A school-wide quiz was held to assess students’ knowledge about cyber safety practices, cybercrime laws, and responsible online behavior. The activity encouraged participation and enhanced awareness through an engaging, competitive format.
Students and staff participated in a Phishing Simulation Exercise to identify fraudulent emails and suspicious online communication. This hands-on activity helped participants recognize real-world cyber risks and respond effectively.
Various posts and digital posters were shared on the school’s official social media platforms to promote cyber hygiene and cyber security best practices. The campaign reached a wide audience and encouraged responsible online behavior within the school community.
The Computer Department initiated a Cyber Security Audit of all unaudited digital assets, including websites, portals, and applications. This helped identify areas of improvement in data protection and system security.
The observance of National Cyber Security Awareness Month successfully enhanced the understanding of digital safety among the entire school community. Through a blend of informative sessions, hands-on activities, and collaborative initiatives, the program reinforced the message that cyber security is a shared responsibility.
